The Maserati GranSport, the latest addition to the Maserati line, celebrates the concept of sportiness. The new GranSport is designed to be an exciting alternative to the Coupé, and has been treated to a series of powerful new enhancements.

The GranSport's muscular, aerodynamic forms have been well-tested in the wind tunnel. Work on the new model's aerodynamics led to the addition of new bumpers—the front bumper, in fact, has a pronounced lower spoiler with side bars elegantly integrated into the body itself. And the luggage compartment deck has a discreet yet equally efficient spoiler lip.

Maximum power delivery has been upped from 390hp to 400hp. The engine has been combined with a sports-exhaust system, instantly recognizable thanks to the unusual design of its twin chrome exhausts, designed to give enthusiasts that instantly recognizable deep, full-bodied rumble.

The Maserati GranSport is available only with the six-speed electrohydraulic transmission, by which gears change by paddles mounted behind the steering wheel, a feature that further enhances the car's sporty personality. The Cambiocorsa system allows drivers to choose among various gear shifting modes (Normal, Sport, Automatic, and Low Grip); in the case of the GranSport, it's controlled by specific software.

Of course, the GranSport boasts all of the excellent technological and safety features found in the Maserati Grand Tourer. The interior combines aesthetics and functionality, to exude elegant good taste and luxurious comfort. The dashboard, seats, tunnel, thick-rimmed steering wheel, and impressive materials—leather, carbon fiber, alloy, high-tech fabric—combine to create an attractive sporty ambience. The body-hugging front seats are fully power-adjustable, and can be supplied with a heating option and memorized settings on the driver's side.
