Orlando Oral Implant Center: Healthier Approach, Happier Smile

Orlando Oral Implant Center SmileWith an education that includes a BS in mechanical engineering, David Hazan, DMD, values good construction techniques. That's why, as a dentist, he decided to specialize in implant dentistry, and has continually upgraded his expertise to become increasingly knowledgeable in restorative and implant dentistry.

A Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Doctor Hazan has practiced in Central Florida since 1997. He relocated the Orlando Oral Implant Center to Altamonte Springs in 2007, and holds staff privileges at Orlando Health.

Why Implants?
Unlike fixed bridges or removable dentures, implants can enhance quality of life by providing a more comfortable, secure solution. And implants contribute to better health: ill-fitting dentures can drastically reduce chewing efficiency, causing some upper digestive problems. Implants are as secure as natural teeth.

Many people have had tooth extractions, but doing nothing more or replacing the tooth with a bridge can create an uncomfortable and expensive "domino effect." The advantages of an implant: in addition to looking and functioning like a natural tooth, it replaces the tooth without sacrificing the health of neighboring teeth. A tooth-supported fixed bridge requires that the adjacent teeth be ground down to support the cemented bridge. And because an implant replaces the tooth root, the bone is better preserved. The implant integrates with the jawbone, helping keep it healthy and intact, whereas with a bridge, some of the bone begins to deteriorate.

The doctor first secures the implant in place, and then attaches a handcrafted permanent crown to each post. The implants match the size and color of the patient's natural teeth and blend seamlessly with his or her smile. How long an implant last depends on the individual's age and oral health, but with proper care, can last a lifetime.

Orlando Oral Implant Center also offers general and cosmetic dentistry, crowns, veneers and bleaching. Patients who want a new smile can take advantage of sedation dentistry, allowing complex treatment that normally takes multiple appointments to be done in one visit under painless sedation.
