For the past two decades, Granny Nannies home health agency has brought compassion, comfort and expert care to clients and their families in Central Florida and beyond. Granny Nannies' professional personal caregivers have made it possible for countless clients to live with or recover from illness at home while surrounded by the people and things they love.
The company's mission is to help, maintain and support ongoing quality of life and the individual's desire to live independently.
Rob and Kirsten Hodgson founded Granny Nannies in 1990. They relate to the struggle of families who want quality care provided to family members in their own homes. In fact, the Hodgsons started the company as a result of their own situation: they needed to find quality, trustworthy, reliable—and affordable—care for Rob's grandmother, Esther Dowding, in her Central Florida home.
Their plight was similar to countless others: an elderly parent whose adult children work and are parents themselves, coupled with a great-grandparent with a zest for life and a disabling physical condition, needing help with the activities of everyday living, yet with the intense desire to stay at home. For Esther and the family, a nursing home was out of the question. Her predicament, and meeting that challenge, was the reason the Hodgsons started Granny Nannies.
Esther lived to age 104. The Hodgsons attribute her long life to the care she received in her last years. The level of care they provided Rob's grandmother is the same level of care they and Granny Nannies provide all of their clients.
