You wait at the post office, the airport, to be seated in a restaurant, the doctor . . . No, not the doctor, now that one organization in the area wants to save some of that wasted time for its patients.

Florida Hospital, Central Florida's largest hospital system, is introducing an online reservation plan for Florida Hospital Centra Care, the first of its kind in the country. Centra Care's new No-Wait Reservation plan promises "door to doctor" in just 10 minutes for patients who are ill or hurt. What makes this new program unique is that patients can choose the time of arrival to see a Centra Care physician at any of 19 locations any day of the week.

Scott Brady, MD, Centra Care's CEO, says the No-Wait program has been a dream of their medical team for years. "It's Centra Care's mission to be a healing ministry in this community. None of us wants to see someone who is sick or injured waiting," he says. "Now they won't have to."

With this system, making a reservation to see a doctor is just a click away. And with just four steps, it's easy to use:
• Go to centracare.org and enter your zip code.
• Choose the Centra Care you want to visit.
• Click on an available time.
• Confirm your appointment.

Centra Care says the new No-Wait Reservation program is one more convenient option in their walk-in urgent-care model. For example, it means patients can come in at lunchtime for a quick doctor's visit; and parents can schedule a child's school, sport or camp physical at their convenience. And Centra Care will be using the No-Wait program to work directly with employers' HR staffs to book drug screenings and pre-employment physicals.

Centra Care has been serving local adults and children for more than 26 years. Each of the 19 Central Florida locations is staffed by a board-certified Florida Hospital physician and is equipped to handle X-rays and labs on-site.
